A generation or two ago, holidays for most people were taken at one of the UK's famous beaches, but with international travel now so easily accessible, the local destinations have drifted out of focus. But that need not be the case - England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales offer all the action, excitement and the all-important championship golf that you could want.
Outside the months of July and August, the weather may not be totally reliable, but if you get lucky with a good week during spring or autumn, a golf holiday in the UK and Ireland is hard to beat.
